we booked this property to visit family members in the area who didn't have any space in their home to accommodate us. The weather was unexpectedly cool and we would have made more use of the massive terrace with a lovely view if it was warmer. This property is in a picturesque national park precinct with the attraction of outdoor activities such as walking, hiking and mountain biking. My husband used the facilities in the underground car park with Bike tools, hose cleaning area for your equipment and wall mounted racks for storage as you can't put the bikes in your rooms. Our bedroom was large and the bathroom was massive. Breakfast was provided as part of our package and the food was excellent (we tried all the items on the menu over 4 days) and we appreciated the lift for our luggage as we were on the top floor. The building has an old world 1920s ambiance more suited to a Scottish hunting lodge complete with patterned carpet and breakout rooms (such as a games, library and sitting room) which was separate to the main foyer. There was a casual dining area and a formal dining area which we used both.

Our last night on tour and what a fabulous place to stay. Rooms are huge and full of traditional construction methods with beams, old wooden doors and furniture along with a huge bathroom too. The view from the bar terrace is stunning, overlooking the Spanish Picos and watching the sun set. Excellent, attentive staff throughout our 1 night stay. This was the evening of the England/Spain European Cup football final and they showed the game of a huge projector screen within one of the large lounge rooms placing us four English at a table in the prime viewing spot. We were surrounded by maybe 40 locals and good banter was enjoyed throughout. Food was excellent too and the breakfast was amazing, the best on the whole trip. A super place to stay and would not hesitate to visit again.

It's a lovely place, the Parador at Cervera. If you want buzz and hum, the bar, the restaurant and the terrace buzz and hum like nobody's business. But the lounges are quiet and sedate, the rooms are huge and the balconies fabulous. At night in August the sun sets in the north-west and rises in the north-east so on the north side of the hotel we began and ended the day in wonderful beauty. The staff are lovely, the food is terrific and the views are incomparable. We walked through the woods to the Senda del Oso, enjoyed a light lunch in the town and then walked back up through oak woods and dry meadows.

Beautiful setting with nice walks from the hotel into the surrounding woods. Staff were very good especially the bar manager / maitre D who was brilliant! Drinks were good value and the terrace overlooking the lake was fantastic. Lift to the rooms is great and the rooms were well appointed, very spacious, clean and beds comfortable. The little balcony was lovely too! Dinner was good with a reasonable choice and excellent quality. A little pricey compared to the area but still decent value for money. We would definitely stay again

The staff were superb and made allowances for my very poor Spanish. The location was very dramatic although the weather could have been better, but this is outside the control of the hotel. I was surprised that dinner was not served until 20:30 hours and some of the explanations of the dishes was a little confusing in translation for example the vegetable soup with veal could have been better described as a veal and vegetable casserole.
